Summer in Charleston

And just like that it's August!

With back to school on the radar and summer winding down, I thought I'd share some snaps from our summer so far! Our weekends have been filled with beach trips, aquarium visits, road trips, farmer's markets, home improvement projects, and everything in between.

With all of that going on, I've intentionally put my phone and camera down this summer hoping to be more present with our little family before we grow again this Fall. It has felt really good.

I'm also finally admitting I can't keep up my usual pace- between creating a human and chasing a toddler, and a bout of solo parenting last week, I'm worn the eff out by the time Rowan is in bed! Its the good kind of worn out but it also means I have a mounting to-do list and half-written blog posts.

It's been so rainy in Charleston lately but we try to explore on the days that we can. On Saturday we made a quick visit to the farmer's market... I've been loving all of the food trucks that have popped up around here and the market is one of the best places to find them!

And in other foodie news because clearly that's where my head is at lately, this weekend I went to brunch with a friend at a new food court-style place called Workshop. I love the concept- it's basically six rotating kitchens where new chefs can try their hand at a pop up restaurant of sorts.  Does that even make any sense? ha anyway I had the most delicious acai bowl from Beech there and I can't wait to go back to try some of the Thai and Tex Mex options before they rotate out!

And now I'm off to catch up on Game of Thrones... anyone else into this season?! SO good so far!

  3. The summer blogging slump is real... not even sure if I can still call myself a blogger with my lack of participation in it lately, ha! Your pictures are gorgeous though and the farmers market was one of my favorite things we did when we visited Charleston!
