We've really focused our limited free time on our family and preparing what we can of our house before the next babe comes. We have so many home projects that are partially finished... its driving me crazy now that nesting is starting to kick in! So finally we're making a dent in those too.
Anyway on to the good stuff!
Today I'm rounding up my summer maternity essentials! I've had a few requests for this post and I suspect its because finding comfortable maternity clothes for these hot months is really tough! Also ignore the fact that its technically halfway through summer already... when you live in the South you forget that not everyone has the heat and humidity through October like we do!
I decided early on in this second pregnancy that I was going to embrace the maternity clothes right away instead of put them off as long as possible like I did with Rowan.
Maybe its a first pregnancy thing... but I remember dealing with the hair tie/shorts thing for entirely too long. So new mamas- if I have one good tip for you it is don't resist the maternity clothes! You're going to need them eventually so just suck it up and buy yourself some shorts or jeans early on so you're comfortable.
Maternity Tees: My go-to is Gap for basic maternity tees. I say this because I hate when shirts have really obvious rouching and Gap's don't so they fit the bill. They have just enough rouching so they fit throughout your pregnancy but not the entire way down the shirt.
These Maternity Pure Body tees are my favorite.. I have them in the crew neck and v-neck styles and love them all. I also love these for lounging around and this tie back softspun tee is the perfect combo of comfy and cute!
For basic tanks, these are my go-to! I wear them even when I'm not prego, don't judge.
Shorts: I promise I'm not getting paid by Gap but I do really love their maternity shorts! During my pregnancy with Rowan I was all about the over the belly jeans, so I was hesitant to try side panel shorts. These frayed shorts are SO soft and comfortable! Hands down my fave. I also like these destroyed jean shorts and this white denim option. I have them all and they are on constant rotation!
I also love these Target over the belly shorts, super soft and they stay up well.
Dresses: Dresses are one thing you can get away with using non-maternity options for most of your pregnancy. I'm a big fan of tighter dresses to show off the bump, until that last month when I start looking like a whale and hibernate/live in my husband's shirts.
My favorite so far is this dress, I wear it on repeat with my converse all of the time. I also love sporting inexpensive dresses like this and this with a non-maternity tee tied above the bump. BUT I cannot wear these tight dresses though without a little help from my best friend, maternity Spanx.
Another favorite for dresses is Asos, especially if you need to dress up the bump for a maternity shoot or wedding. I'm currently eying this and this for a wedding later this summer!!
Swim: I am not a big fan of myself in a two piece during pregnancy, especially after I found this Target Lace One-Piece Swimsuit! It's non-maternity but has a ton of stretch to it so I think it will last me the rest of summer!

What a great suit.
