5 Completely Random Tidbits from our Summer so far

Is it me or is this summer going crazy fast this year?!

This summer has been so much fun, but I'm also probably the most exhausted I've ever, ever been. An almost 8 month old who still doesn't sleep through the night is part of that, but I digress.

There are some big things in the works that have pulled me away from the blog... So let's have a quick recap of what we've missed so far with a few random photos, shall we?

ONE

My night owl ways have been in full force because I'm finally (officially) launching my photography business! YAY! I've been busy with sessions lately and I'm absolutely loving it, but the editing does take away from my time here.

I've been doing sessions for over a year, working to build my portfolio, learn as much as I can, and find what inspires me as a photographer and I'm so happy with the progress I've made.

As much as I love my day job, sitting behind a computer all day does not fulfill me like photography does. I am counting down the days until I can do it full time and spend more time with my babies- so launching an Instagram page and a website (coming very soon!) has been a late night time suck that I'm happy to have.

TWO

Two mobile boys = crazy town. Finn started army crawling around 7 months and might be faster than Rowan ever was crawling on his hands and knees. He loves his big brother and is trying so hard to grow up way too fast just so he can keep up with Rowan.

THREE

We went on a 10 day trip to Florida last month, braved the Disney heat and crowds (fun but never doing that again in June), and spent some much needed time with family. Finn also went on a nursing strike and hated his car seat during that trip, so that was just about as chaotic as you'd expect.

FOUR

We're renovating our half bath and I'm SO pumped to show you guys!! Its taken me a while to really hone on my exact design style - I'm going with minimalist modern farmhouse? Or maybe wannabe minimalist. Ha. But really anything is better than the snoozefest builder grade bathroom we started with.

This has been a project that has been in the works for over a month now and we're just waiting on the tile right now, so once that is in I think it will be quick to put together.

FIVE

Honestly I got a little discouraged by the path the blogging industry has taken lately.

I have big plans for this space but it took having a second baby to slow me down and remind me of the important things, like blogging about what I love when I want to do it. Not how many likes my photos get, how many page views or followers I have. Blogging makes you think things like that, and I don't like that.

So from here on out I'm doing it my way! Thank you all for the support and for following along for years. I've heard from so many of you via Instagram and just love this community so much!
